Dr. Obeid is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Minimally-Invasive Surgery, Department of Surgery at Michigan Medicine. He is a native of Michigan, born and raised in the Detroit metropolitan area. He attended the University of Michigan, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with High Distinction in 2006. He then completed his medical education in 2010 at the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Obeid furthered his training in general surgery at New York University School of Medicine as house officer of NYU Langone Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital Center, and the Manhattan Veterans Affairs Hospital. He graduated as academic chief resident in 2016. He subsequently completed an accredited fellowship in minimally-invasive and bariatric surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital. He joined the faculty at Michigan Medicine in September 2017. He has been an active member of MBSC and now serves as an associate director.
